I've loved Signum forever, their productions have always been top rate... HOWEVER recently their productions have dropped significantly in quality I think... There latest tracks (Back @ Ya and In Your Face) really disappointed me and lacked the melodic, uplifting feeling that their old tracks have/had. Also, I believe it was Supersonic that was recently on ASOT (correct me if it's not, I'm not 100% sure), and it sounded like Armin - Serenity part 2... Needless to say, that's not a great accomplishment.

I'm hoping they go back to their quality melodies rather than the heavy on percussion "made-for-club" tracks. In any case, I'm definitely looking forward to hearing their new stuff, especially the Can't Sleep remix, and hopefully there'll be something nice and surprising in their future releases .

Man,

Signum - Back @ Ya... is an absolute pumper! I don't know how you can dislike it, unless you're not into tech trance. I used to not like tech-trance, but that's the way tech-trance should be, not shitty like "RS / S&T - Incognition"... and it fuking KILLS it on the dance floor.

Haven't heard any other tracks, sad sad sad sad sad.

Compare Second Wave & the 2004 remix of First Strike to what they are making now. NO CONTEST imo. They can do far better imo

I thoroughly enjoy tech-trance, but the techtrance I listen to has to have some form of substance. Incognition I like, but I wouldn't call it techtrance, in fact I wish the tech element in it would be taken out. I'm sure that in a club Back @ Ya would be great, but listening to it for personal enjoyment or for inspiration purposes, the track is terrible. There isn't any real depth to the track, so it really, really disappoints me when you compare this to something like Second Wave.

Trcks are made for different purposes; "Bck @ Ya" purpose probably to get the floor pumped; the track played after building up a set... whereas songs like "Second Wave" are used to move the crowd... to get flow going...

I mean inspiration comes in different forms and into different avenues... so it really is mood dependent...

It doesn't remind me much of Serenity to be honest. I do hear a resemblance to Airwave - Alone in the Dark though, but it sounds much better.

It's still more than a little bit disappointing (for me in any case) when the level of quality and depth in tracks is dropped significantly -- even when it's changed (or made) for "getting the floor pumped". There's a serious lack of emotion in the track, the majority of what I hear in it is "doof doof doof doof doof", and I'm not a fan of that. Not trying to stir anything here, but making a track that's low quality just because it would work in a set even though it's not high quality sounds like the whole "filler tracks" argument -- not a good topic to get into, but you understand me (or at least I hope you do).
