google search will yield the cartoons...they're all over the place.

don't paint Islam to be bad because of a few nuts.

imagine the reputation Christianity would have around the world if people saw Pat Robertson as it's main voice, lol.

every religion has it's radicals who make up their own shit as they go along...

I agree that the more moderate and liberal Muslims should stand up and oppose the radicals:

A MANIFESTO AGAINST THE NEW ISLAMIC TOTALITARIANISM: Bravo. Click "read more" to read it.

MANIFESTO:

Together facing the new totalitarianism

After having overcome fascism, Nazism, and Stalinism, the world now faces a new totalitarian global threat: Islamism.

We, writers, journalists, intellectuals, call for resistance to religious totalitarianism and for the promotion of freedom, equal opportunity and secular values for all.

The recent events, which occurred after the publication of drawings of Muhammed in European newspapers, have revealed the necessity of the struggle for these universal values. This struggle will not be won by arms, but in the ideological field. It is not a clash of civilisations nor an antagonism of West and East that we are witnessing, but a global struggle that confronts democrats and theocrats.

Like all totalitarianisms, Islamism is nurtured by fears and frustrations. The hate preachers bet on these feelings in order to form battalions destined to impose a liberticidal and unegalitarian world. But we clearly and firmly state: nothing, not even despair, justifies the choice of obscurantism, totalitarianism and hatred. Islamism is a reactionary ideology which kills equality, freedom and secularism wherever it is present. Its success can only lead to a world of domination: man’s domination of woman, the Islamists’ domination of all the others. To counter this, we must assure universal rights to oppressed or discriminated people.

We reject « cultural relativism », which consists in accepting that men and women of Muslim culture should be deprived of the right to equality, freedom and secular values in the name of respect for cultures and traditions. We refuse to renounce our critical spirit out of fear of being accused of "Islamophobia", an unfortunate concept which confuses criticism of Islam as a religion with stigmatisation of its believers.

We plead for the universality of freedom of expression, so that a critical spirit may be exercised on all continents, against all abuses and all dogmas.

We appeal to democrats and free spirits of all countries that our century should be one of Enlightenment, not of obscurantism.

I donno about Islam and i don' really care what it really is or not. The only thing i know from growing up in a muslim country is that Muslims are biiig time freaks that never change their mind and never will accept something else than what their holly QURAN says.

That's why i get offended when someone asks me if i am a muslim.

generalizing doesn't help.

I can show you pics of people in Iran partying it up inside their homes in secret underground rec rooms. Young people and middle aged people dancing it up to illegal music, drinking illegal booze and so on.

Painting an image of all muslims being radicals is like painting a stereotypical image of any religion .. There are examples for all.

The intolerant people have the loudest voice, but they don't represent the bulk of the population.

Hmm As a matter of fact i am from iran and i lived there for 17 years so i know all about the parties and drinking and so many other underground things . But you think all of the parties would end up peace?

You know how many parties gut busted by all those freaks? how many innocent youngies gut tortured cause of just partying?

And why would you think it all happened, it all originated from a part of Iran that were freaks. And those freaks would call themselves "MUSILMS" . So the rest of IRan hated them so much that slowly slowly they denied their religion. I am not the only one which thinks this way.. I know alot of Iranian that think this way.

It's just like you get sick of it.. you can't take them anymore. so you start hating them.

What is your concern? Are you you talkin about me?
1st of all i did not start this thread.
I just saied what i believe and it's an open forum and free world.
I usually participate in music discussions and that's why i am here so if there is a discussion about something else ,just like all of us i have the right to speak my mind.

Bottom line i don think i am a loser just cause of I spoke my mind.

peace.
