For the casual "Trance" listener, maybe. However, Edge Factor was a very well known and respected production duo in the 95-97 era. His solo production "You Won't See Me Cry" in 1999 was fairly well known also.

Markus Shulz was well known way before he was signed to Armin.
Most people who have been in the scene knew about him years before Armins name even was mentioned. Especially in the US.

His Edge Factor alias was as already mentioned very productive in the mid 90s.
