I'm not sure what to believe.

I've read through the thread on trance.nu. It's too easy to pull of scams like that.
I've seen a couple of more suspicious things.

In a thread on the KVR forums, the friend of Doru gives out his family's email addresses.
Strangely all of them are highly available, free Internet email accounts.
A quick google on "Cristina Malaia" gives 2 results, strangely both are posts by Daniel.
I also goggled the other email addresses, and strangely, the same two forum topics appeared.
As for the third one belonging to Daniel, I got a couple of hits. Most of them are hits that also contains a link to Doru's page.

Well, I don't really know what's true, but something smells fishy!

well now after knowing about alot of what doru did and what has happened throughout conversations i dont know what to be believe.
i still have respect and hope this gets sorted out cos its a little fishy. i thought when someone dies they post a pic of the person to show a sign of respect for that person, for all i know is that he was a member of trance addict.

After reading all the forum topics about this,I am convinced it was all a scam. And as somebody from other forum said, he mispelled easy words but real complex ones he spelled fine.

To me, this is the last straw that broke the camel's back.
So the man "died", but the samples are still in focus? WTF? A man "died", but still, "his" samples are in the equation. Now I am 100% it was all a scam...a clever one. No wonder I always had that weird feeling.

Don't get me wrong guys...as many of you did, I also got really attached to the guy because he seemed to be a great human being with a clean heart. Reading about his death shocked me...saddened me. But let's be real...there's too much loose proof out there that this was indeed a scam. And maybe the guy posted that Doru died just because he already achieved his goal and didn't want to keep playing Doru's character. Look at it...he died but still, the focus is in the samples. You read about the samples every 2 sentences. If somebody died, the least thing you talk about is money and stuff. Hopefully, nobody died and I hope the man really existed. But if not, we got tricked and loved a fellow veteran musician that NEVER existed. Either way you see it, if he was fake and he never existed, he still

This could be very well the picture of any random guy, or maybe this guy influenced the author of what could be a scam.

I dont think it's a random guy, that guy is on some pics in Dorus WebsAlbum. Could be Doru himself.
But still, it could also be any random guy as you said.

Naturally the cicumstances are somewhat concerning, as there seems to be darker side to all of this.
What troubles me is that there is a risk that someone has taken advantage of a group of enthusiasts with what is potentially emotional blackmail/fraud.

But you can look at this in several ways.
The way I see it is this. If the allegations are true then perhaps the sadest thing is that the person behind it lost out as there was obviously quality interaction, and ultimately their experience would have been richer if they had been honest about who they were in the first place.

With regards to the sample CDs.
Was there ever a claim tha they were royalty free samples? If so and they are not then of course it's fraud.

With regards to spelling of words, that needn't mean anything. People will usually spell words that they relate to or feel strongly about much better than for example easy everyday words. People also have very different ways of processing them. So it needn't mean anything. (Mrs Nem is a teacher of English to non English speakers)

The other thing though is that there is nothing to stop this guy from re-inventing himself and attempting another scam. Something that it true to the pathology of fraudsters.

of course it was a scam months ago when he said he had cancer people felt sorry for him and bought his samples (i just downloaded the freebies) and now he's letting on he's dead so that he can clean out your piggy banks more. if a person is dying of cancer to you really think they would be sitting on their death bed saying to a friend "oh by the way here is my TA user name and password, make sure they are well looked after and let them use my samples". i thinks lying on your death bed you would be more concerned about how long you've got to life rather than worry about this.
