Does it matter if we use straight up mp3's or is is better quality if we convert mp3 to the cd audio format?

The reason I ask is I see DJ's at events spinning cd's and they have like 100 cd in a huge binder when I can fit like 30-50 tracks on one cd.

Features are limited running MP3's and these DJ's at events aren't playing on CDJ200's

1000MK3/800MK2 aren't out yet, therefore any DJ you saw HAS TO play off CD audio format.

Wait, what kind of features do you have playing on a mp3->converted to cd format?

I'm on CD200's. I assume I can only do things like scratch on cd format on 800's? Is that it.

I meant that on the CDJ800/1000 you can't play MP3's direct, only MP3's converted to CD audio meaning you could only put like 8-10 songs on a CD.

On the CDJ200, you can play MP3's direct meaning you can put maybe a hundred songs on a CD, but from what I've read, when you play an MP3 file direct, the features you can use on the 200 become limited, I'm not sure to what extent... You should try it yourself since you have a pair.

Oh really, I had no idea I was limiting anything on the CDJ200 by using MP3's.

I'll look into this.

I don't think you loose out on anything.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the CDJ200 is newer then the 800 or 1000 and only on the 800mk2/1000mk2 can you do mp3 and hot loops.
