Here are my pics
My 7 min Eddie Vid (50.11 megs Divx)
hopefully the vid works for others, I have mad codecs so everything works on here. I think it has some overlap from mister Thrax's vid, I still have to see his. I have some more too !!!
oh and usually people put down their tale of the night. Well I drove out to LA a lil late, left at 330 er so. Everything was fine until the darkness set in and the clouds rolled through. I started to notice a little something rushing by the beams of my headlights. No, not small children again, or animals, but snow. It started snowing slowly, then BAM, a blizzard. In all actuality, the snow was mild. I grew up in Michigan and drove through my fair share of blizzards, and this was nothing out of the ordinary, for me. Unfortunately for a few people it was. They ended up messing up their cars. oh well, I got to LA by 830 and all was good.
I get in fine, they actually were just giving away tickets to people in the guestlist line, not even checking....sweet. I immediately meet the TAs hanging out outside, and after smoozing a bit verndawgy dawg recognizes me upstairs. But onto the music...
The openers for eddie were weak sauce. I wasn't very impressed with anyone there. So I hung out in the back room for a while and watched Kristina tear it up. She played some good songs which got me in the mood for eddie, she should have taken dweedish egil dudes spot. But, swedish egil played some good songs, but he reminded me of when I saw armin.....a year ago. Either way, eddie got on at 2.
....
He played non stop pumpin tunes. He flawlessly mixes between trance tracks and techno....every mix was spot on, both beatmatching and harmonic mixing. Plus he was looping cds, scratching a bit of vinyl (not as much as he usually does), and running effects. He had 3 decks routinely going at teh same time.
Then I type out 'Marco V - Red Blue Purple' on my phone and show him and he plays it next... I think I lost it there. I looked back at the crowd and saw soo much energy. that track rules. And at teh end he finished in pure eddie style, by just tearing it up and going insane. He played Marcel Woods for the encore...or wait, I played it. And it would have played immediately if he had the chan volume up.
Man I hope he can come back soon for a longer real headliner set. this 2 hour crap wasn't enough....although I was thoroughly tired afterwards. Also they stole drinks at 2am. I thought it was they couldn't serve alcohol after 2...but it was fine to drink....wtf.
and I have to say that the coolest thing about going to see shows in LA is everyone that says 'whats up boomer'...hehe, everywhere I was someone said hi and it kicked ass. I will prolly see you guys sat again maybe. and maybe some of you on friday..but for now its spring break!!!>

i wasnt close to eddie at all when he was doing his tricks but i was understanding most of them but was just amazed how he was getting it that precise. like for example he played tilt new day and the end kept looping in randy katana play it louder for a few minutes.
i dont know if u also noticed that he was killing the bass completely most of the time before dumping the next song in. and right when he puts the new song in he raises the bass and people go nuts.
he got a weird habit of spitting on his fingers before doing some tricks hehe. i found that funny and wondering how that can help. things will only get slippery when he does that.
the set was full of energy from beginning til the time i left. i wouldnt miss him for anything next time hes here.

PICTURES!!! Enjoy
Here are my pics from this amazing night!
http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/2712654
Eddie Halliwell, you have to see this guy live to understand, there are no words to describe him and what he does. By FAR the best performance DJ I have ever seen, there is no one out there who does what he does the way does it. He really knows how to be with the crowd. All DJ's should take lessons from this guy on interaction with an audience.
Swedish Egil - Set the playing field perefecty for Eddie, played some great tunes. All in all, I liked Victor Dinaire's set better though. Victor continously played amazing tracks one right after the other. Couldn't stop dancing back there.
Mark Lewis - Good, but thank you Kristina Sky. You had the crowd and the best music going at that time. Mark played a couple good tracks, but Kristina your talent on working the crowd had the energy in your room where I like it. As usual.
Matt Cerf - Great opening set, love the House music. I honestly don't know what else was going on at this time cause I was either in the Back room or saying hi to so many friends!
D'Morse - From the moment they let you touch the decks, it was over. Nice closing set back there, it's really hard to have any kind of crowd when you have Eddie Halliwell killing the place about 100feet away. D'Morse managed to maintain a crowd and played some killer tunes! Nice job!
Thanks to everyone, my night ended the next day at l0:30am when I passed out and then was back at it again at 1pm..

Re: PICTURES!!! Enjoy
it just seems like eddie interacted more with the people because the stage @ spundae is so clubber friendly, i mean the DJ is within touching distance...it would really be ignoring if he didnt look at the crowd standing 2 feet away from him every once in a while. True, he did get in2 it with the crowd and i gotta admit he is really good...Now, unless u have VIP @ avalon you cant chill upstairs on the stage behind the DJ booth. Last MAY , Sasha's last residency night in MAY (by far greatest night @ AVALON 4 me yet)he was interracting more with the crowd when Desyn was doing his thing.....I dunno if you guys have noticed, but when Sasha spins alone, he is so serious and concentrates on only spining. Doesnt even look left or right, doesnt smile or nothin. But whenever hes sharing the stage with someone, he becomes a joker and crowd teaser...pointing , clapping,lauging...what a nice guy....
