I'm not taking away anything from Jules, but the shows are mixed by a technician in the studio, his 30 min mix at the end of the show is pre-recorded, and VERY often the entire show is also pre-recorded.
Same goes for tongy's show...and fergie's.
Jules is a legend though and he's a hell of a lot wealthier than all of us, so I'll kiss his ass any day of the week.
heard him playing 2 weeks ago at a club here.. was my 3rd time I've seen him live and I must admit he's only getting worse during live performances.. his track selection could only be described as random, he took over from a prog trance set and played marcel woods - advanced.. then played 3 cheesy fem vocal tracks in a row and then cutmixed to a more techy track.. and went like that all night.. he even played advanced once more later.. he closed the night with s.o.s. (svd mix)..
I did have fun though.. mainly due to the excessive alcohol consumption.. but really he didnt make me much of an impression..

you'll kiss his ass purely on the basis of the size of his bank balance? that is pretty sad and this is the reason why he keeps getting booked and keeps playing crap tunes because mindless clubbers will dance to anything that he plays only because he is famous and not because they enjoy the set. this kind of idolising of dj's really annoys me.

How do you know? Just cos you don't like the tunes doesn't mean everybody doesn't. I appreciate Jules, not becuase of the tunes he plays but more becuase he brings dance music to people who perhaps wouldn't otherwise be interested in it. A lot of people get in to EDM via people like Jules, then become more interested in other DJs and producers later on.
He's a people's DJ more than a musically focussed DJ, and the clubbing scene needs people like that. Call his track selection crap, but the UK clubbing scene isn't exactly booming just now, and it would be a lot worse if it wasn't for people like him who bring music along with some charisma and friendliness.

impling he will pretend to like him because he's got a bit of money, the key word in the quote is "so".
