Well the bike shop I have been eyeing bikes at specialize in Norco and Brodie bikes.

I looked through their catologues, and I like the Norco bikes better, (aesthetically). I asked a friend about it, and he said that the lighter in weight the bike is, the better, especially considering my size.

Does anyone have any other info?

It's you that's not answering our questions

Where do you plan on going with this bike?

Is it for lazy riding, mountain biking, etc etc

Weight isn't all that important unless you're in competition racing. Let's say you weight 130 lbs + cheap bike 28 lbs = total weight of 158 lbs (need to do your metric conversion). An expensive bike might be 3 lbs less so 158 lbs vs 155 lbs. Are you really going to notice a 2% difference in total weight and are you willing to spend a pile of money for that difference?

If this is to get you around on campus I'd recommend either a mountain or hybrid bike. Comfort, traction, and durability are more desirable for this type of use. I'd get a decent bike but don't spend too much because they're the number one target for campus thieves. You don't want to dump a whole lot of cash into something just to see it vanish into thin air.

I need it for city/leisure/trail riding.

I don't want anything too hard core, and I don't want something that I am practically horizontal when I am riding it.

'hard core' 'horizontal' are we talking about bikes or sex?

So I bought a bike yesterday!!!

It's super awesome

I have the women specific version, 15", and I have the legal standard night lights (installed and given to me for free), a little bell (also given to me for free) , and a women specific seat with reactive gel

Then I got a lock and a helmet!

So... dear COR, I hope not to sadden you, but now that the weather is nice, and I have a bike, I wont be around much.
