Just a few thoughts from the so-called "tits"
You guys come off really arrogant and dull-witted sometimes (not all of you).
You can do what you will, and you will. So I am merely shedding some unorthodox opinions. Don't flame the "tit".
But, no one knows who we really are, and no one knows who you really are anyway. Many of you are glorified amateurs anyway. Ego delusions do not equal reality.
Derogatory terms and epithets do not inspire community.
Rules were made to be broken, and they will be.
Most people do not run on this forum to spam. Many of us, like me, stand in somewhat awe of your more advanced sound skills. You should be enjoying our happy, breathless comments instead of disparaging us. I've posted reviews on threads started by almost every negative person in this thread. Only one has ever reviewed my little newbie track post and pointed me to greater skill (thx kopi).
Ironically, continuing to deteriorate a potentially vibrant community with rule-bound hurdles will always increase the chaos and misery as it has through human history. When love, life and music have left the building, in come the rule makers, niche grabbers, and genre hair-splitters. You will have pages of dry minutiae then as there will be no brotherhood.
I am not responding to this thread per se. Since I joined weeks ago, you see one of these threads (usually from the same people) every 3-4 days.
You don't think this will hurt future members participation? I assure it will . . . Since you all seem so intent on having an incestuous relationship of unsuccessful wanna-bes, you should start a newbie forum banned to *cough* pros I've never heard of, so we can have fun, make friends and make music.
Your forum soon will fully degenerate to the online equivalent of the nerdy audovisual clubs in high-school, full of future directors who can't get dates and collect state welfare monies to buy cheese.
p.s. feel free to flame and/or ban me, I could give a shit anyway. Probably be a mark of distinction in some places.
pps I can't actually exist very long anywhere without revealing my true nature, so take me with a grain of salt.

I think new users NEED to be able to post new threads in the studio forum, or else there's little reason to join. I know when I join forums, it's usually on a whim, because I couldn't find the answer to something by searching. Then it's off to the reg screen.
New users of the forums are usually new producers anyway, so why would they need to use the promotion thread? And any pro producers that have some particular reason for joining would be fairly easily spotted anyway. I assume the mods are able to change user status on this forum (afterall, they're able to ban.)
But I think the posted limits have been a little crazy so far. I say two months, 50 posts. Spammers are not going to stick around that long posting random comments, especially if the limits are not advertised.
Whether you agree with my limits or not, I think you should keep in mind that the production studio is more for newbs, and the promotion studio is more for experienced producers. Maybe an amature song review forum could work, as then the newbs would be directed there by name alone as well, and the purpose would be more clear.
Anyway, good idea, but I think it should be limited to the Promotion Forum.
[edit]
And what's the point of newbs reviewing your track anyway... How bout not worrying about that. |
Good points

I dont think having a 2 month trial period with thread creation restriction in the MPP is too much to ask for (though it may not be an achievable website script??), and its defintlely not for the purpose of creating segregated group of elitist reviewers lol. It's just an idea to weed out a little bit of spam

[QUOTE]so just go to a professional reviewer and ask him to do a detailed review of the track.
I'm telling "YOU", but I mean any person which would want to make the kind of changement you proposed. |
I dont need to go to ask to a professional reviewer, every time someone releases my tunes I get professional reviews, this site helps u out to the beta versions so when a professional does a review other producers had pointed out the issues.

very interesting, but I still don't see your point. because what you're telling is that if you have less 'bad' comments, then you have more 'good' ones.. but that's just wrong that way you'll be just filtering 'useless' (in your opinion) comments, but it will never help to have more good reviews.
|
Dont missunderstand quality with more good comments, if I only get one review, but that review is really helpful (Quality one), I am done, that was all what I needed, I usually delete my threads after two or three days, this is not a popularity contest or sort of, after those 2, 3 days I get all the sugesstion and work on the track again dude.

Now if you care about your hosting traffic, your solution won't help neither. Sorry, but who on earth is talking about host traffic?

Actually, you are wrong, is a reciprocal thing, I review much more than the times I ask for review btw, just see my number of replys, in all my TA history, I have made about 30 threads with tunes to be reviewed, and I have above 1200 posts, and I only enter to the producers forum, except for 10 or 20 times I have been in other sections of TA, so it's obvious u dont have a point there mate.
I see why you are upset off with my comment, you have been here about a year and you have only 71 posts, so you are feeling like we want to take you away from this section indirectly .
BTW, we are only sugesting and giving our personal opinions, we are not TA staff at all or sort of, TA staff obviously have more experience than ous and they are too much more objetives, I am sure they will do what it is correct for all, new users, regular users, old school users, etc etc.
Kopi =o.
