Hi there... Just wanted to say I personally ONLY use reason. I think it's quite wonderful and it can do all the things I need. But I'd also like to mention that I've also got some hardware, though I hardly use it anymore. I got a yamaha CS2x and I've borrowed a roland Mc303.. I've never use the mc303 in any production and I only use my CS2x as a midicontroller and sometimes i sample some sounds from it. well, that's how i work...

I gotta say Reason is horrible for strings. they sound so cheap in it.. and also, the sound quality of the synths doesnt really compare to hardware.

Well, I think that depends on how good you know the software... The softsynth in reason can do incredible things if you just know how to tweak it right. I just recently understood the power of the softsynth and I've been making music solely in reason for over a year now. And strings, dunno what kind of strings you mean but if it is orchestreal it all depends on the samples... But I don't use very much strings in my music so I really don't know if the softsynth sucks in the strings department...

yeah its probably possible to get near hardware quality sounds in reason.. if you tweak it right.. especially if you add a chorus to it. But strings really are horrible in it. that is really my only complaint with reason.. I too was using it for a really long time for my tracks.. first came eJay, then Reason, then Sonar (with Hardware). and misery, you got some crazy tracks going on mp3.com, keep it up. Im still learning my synth and sequencer to the max, before I come out with any psychotic songs.. just did a few to practice. Right now Im working on a Floorfilla - ANthem #2 remix, this track is crazy. Got the song down solid.
