Pasquale manages Vanguard. He doesn't own it.

Went to HSII myself and yes the main room dj's SUCKED with the exception of Glaude.

But DAMN, the dnb room was off the hook. Just about every dj in there blew the roof off the place. That room made my night.

I'm sure electric daisy carnival will have a much better overall lineup. I'm sure the main headliner for that party will be a trance dj this time.

This my not be a popular take but...anyone who goes to a rave these days has no right to complain at all - regardless of how much you paid.

It's a given that there will be cracked out kids, shady promoters, shitty venues, and suspect lineups. But how can you complain when there are flyers and message boards like TA that announce who's spinning (or at least trying to).

Not all raves have shitty promoters and shit venues. Cracked out kids, eh, its part of the scene, like it or not. They don't know any better.

I have been to some pretty cool desert parties that would be considered as the definition of a rave, and they had good sound, good DJs and honest, fun loving people running them.

Fuckheads doing these events for money, getting away with horrible events give them a bad name, its a shame.

I suppose once you've been inside a Circus, an Ice or Space (ok, scratch the last one), ALL raves suck.

I've been to ICE, of the clubs on that list, and yes, they are amazing. Yes I would prefer to go to that, than some shoddy desert rave.

But you can't lump all raves into a shit pile because some extortionists are sucking money out of kids who have no other option because of our backward laws.

Good parties have and will continue to happen, its up to the people going to them to demand better quality events, i.e. not going to raves like this where most of us knew before hand it was going to be crap.

not being in the scene that long but being 34 years old i have experienced both raves or massives and clubs. the club scene is better for the simple fact that i don't have to see 14 year old kids cracked out on E. it makes me so sad that at that early of an age they are on 4-6 pills in a 4 hour period. i am not here to condem any drug use, i don't judge others as i don't wish to be judged, but i just wish for those children, 14-17, yes you are still children in my eyes that you would be children and wait until you are older to partake or make the decision to partake in drugs. be kids first, you have the rest of your lives to be adults and make those decisions of drug use. don't waste your youth on it. sorry, i'm sure i will get slammed for this or whatever but it's how i view these raves/massives. if i'm gonna see crackheads, i would rather them be of adult age b/c then atleast i can think, okay they made that decision for themselves and not b/c everyone else is doing it. it just breaks my heart that kids so young are in the middle of E puddles and so out of it they don't even know who is around them. why have to get so lost inside your own world at that early of an age? not saying anyone on this board forum is like that, it's just what i have experieneced at massives/raves. but hey what i can say, the clubs i've been to for edm have been the most tolerant and peaceful i have ever been too.

i still head out to the occasionaly rave once in a while to support my friends. it is sad seeing younger people messed up out of their mind. there is also a new type of problem now, 13-16 year old girls wearing pretty much nothing and walking messed up on who knows what. im sure there are a few that are sober, but it still doesnt give out a good signal. there are shady people who will do shady stuff. the club scene is more fun in my opinion anyways. get to see world class talent and be around people who TRULY love the music and are not there for the drugs.

the washing machines scare me because seeing old asian people rolling like that scares me lol.

Agreed 100%.

Agreed 1000%.

Here's my take on raves...I don't party/club every weekend so if I'm going to spend my hard-earned jack (and more importantly, valuable time), I'm shooting for as close-to-a sure thing as possible (and that certainly isn't a rave). That is why I'm saying to those who still go to raves and feel like they're getting ripped, STFU.

WOW, alot of jaded people here...
i don't how long some of you people have been in "the sence"
but raves are what started this entire thing, now granted they may not be as good as they used to be, but remember the same kids that go to these parties now, will be saying the same thing you are in 5 years when they are at Avalon or spundae, so lets give them a little break. I for one would much rather go to a massive party then the same damn club EVERY WEEKEND(considering the line-up is right). Now what America needs are "festivals" like the U.K. has-Creamfields,Global Gathering,Dance Valley etc...where MAJOR TALENT IS BOOKED, why these type of festival events are not thrown is beyond me.... ;(

creamfields 2005 line-up
Creamfields Main Stage: Basement Jaxx, Faithless, Cagedbaby, Audio Bullys

Chibuku Shake Shake Arena: 2 Many DJs, Dave Clarke, Richie Hawtin, Layo & Bushwacka, Plump DJs, DJ Yoda, Leo Belchetz, Johnny1Move, Soundsystem - Live, Aphletik - Live

Cream & Goodgreef Arena: Paul Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Armin Van Buuren, Judge Jules, Fergie, Eddie Halliwell, Above & Beyond, Adam Sheridan, NU NRG - Live, Gareth Wyn

Subliminal Sessions Arena: Erick Morillo, Pete Tong, Seb Fontaine, Harry ‘Choo Choo’ Romero, Jose Nunez, Abigail Bailey - Live PA, Tom Stephan

Southern Fried Records Arena: Timo Maas, Fatboy Slim, Yousef, David Guetta, Jon Carter, Justin Robertson, Infusion - Live, DJ Touche, Annie Mac, Shakedown, Hernan Cattaneo

Galaxy Outdoor Stage (Live on Galaxy FM): Hosted by: Andi Durrant & Paul Kershaw, Slammin Boys, Hed Kandi Bargrooves, More TBA

Full Cycle Arena: Jazzy Jeff & Mad Skillz, Roni Size, Andy C, Dillinja & Lemon D, Zinc & Jenna G, Gilles Peterson, Scratch Perverts, DJ Krust, DJ Die, Clipz, Dynamite MC, Navigator, Tali, Darrison, More TBA

Tidy Arena: K90 - Live, Tidy Boys, Lisa Lashes, Rob Tissera, Andy Farley, Mark EG, Proteus, Lee Haslam, Paul Glazby, Amber D, Gaz West (AKA Dark By Design), Tara Reynolds, Ben Stevens, Paul Maddox, Anne Savage, Lisa Pin Up

Strongbow Rooms: Felix Da Housecat, Ivan Smagghe (Black Strobe), The Glimmers, Radio Slave, Skitz & MCD, Rob da Bank, Kris Bones

MY Point is-its not the "raves" just the talent being booked, as i am sure if this was the "HOW SWEET IT IS 2007" line-up everyone would go.
