wow, lots of hype on z3ta, i've tried it b4, but never took to much interest in it as i never thoroughly went over its functions or patches. Maybe i'll re-evaluate my decision

as expected, ppl have the erge to post more then one lol. seriously most of us who use vst's are aware of whats out there. with the hard decision of only choosing one, i just want to see what it'd be (and yes, i'm aware different vst's for different purposes of course) but as stated, what can you not live without.

V-Station for my bread and butter...

-- I've got one hardware synth... my JP-8080 and I think I made a very good choice on that one.

Just got my Vanguard - she's a beauty.

For now... I'll have to say that my V-Station is my most worn and loved (because hardware doesn't count... snickers).

although the vanguard and Pro-53 are close they can't really take the edge of the V-station to be honest. I can use V-station for pretty much everything except drums. works like a charm for leads, base, pads etc.

Depends on the genre of the track... and the sorts of sounds I want to create

* Arturia ARP2600
* Albino 2
* Korg M1, Wavestation

Used to use Vstation alot... however Ive found the synth to sound too weak

I don't see how it's weak at all. Check out the Synthation presets from www.synthation.net and tell me the V-Station is weak ;P There's no external effects added so personally I feel that the sounds coming out of that VSTi are extraordinary. The Pro-53 presets are really well made also, but only problem is that they used 32 voice polyphony so it takes a load on your soundcard if it sucks hardcore. I have an onboard soundcard so it doesn't work so well when I try to use the Pro-53. I generally have to lower the polyphony, just so I can run a few instances of it.

my choice of synths

pro 53
zeta
and v-station

you can do wonders with all these

i tried fm7 after i read so much about it on the web but when i got it was turned of by it and dont use it at all its very complicated and confusing synth

pretty much any analog synth would be suitable as a go to synth
