Im guilty of saying "OMG HE DROPPED THAT TRACK" 
But thing is, I do listen for the set's story, or the set's sound, not just the tracks the DJ usually plays...
To be honest, guys like Timo Maas for istance... I dont always recognize every track, in fact I dont recognise MOST of the tracks, but I loooooooove Timo Maas as a dj, all the sets of his Ive heard have had a story and to accent that the guy can produce.
Satoshi Tomiie is another one (similar in style to Timo), that plays that great dark spooky stuff, he too can get to you somehow with his tunes.
ON THE OTHER HAND
I will still always go out to see guys like Ferry, Armin etc etc, just because it'll always be a reminder as to what got me into the music. I can differentiate between the pop trancy/electro/prog DJs that are more or less rockstars, and the DJs that are there to spin what THEY want to spin, however dark/dirty/underground it is.
