I've never understood this mentality, you here people say similar things about bands and its completely assinine on the fans part. This is a job for these people, and while they do enjoy the music aspect of this BUSINESS, they have to pay the bills. So dont hate on someone for being famous and even getting an ego from it, the fans gave him/them the ego blame yourselves.
BTW I'm no tiesto fanboi, I couldnt name a tracklist on a single ISOS, but I've been on this board close to 6 years now and its pure comedy watching people hype the next dj, he gets famous and then no one here likes him... |
I'm not saying "Tiesto sucks" really from this stand point. I'm just saying he's been over hyped. It's not him getting super famous for the reason I dislike him, it's statements he's made over the years, his attitude, his so so productions, the fact he hardly produces his own stuff, and his mixing which has been quite poor, esp for a supposed professional. I don't think he's as "great" as people make him out to be, thats what I was trying to say, and that by someone making this statement about liking his music no matter what, to me, makes someone out to be like they worship the DJ just because he's the DJ, without any regard to his actual ability or what he plays. It's a "title" thing.
I don't care about someone being famous, they can be as famous as they want, but there are plenty of DJs who are not as famous as Tiesto, and are more talented then he is. He's just an overrated music player. And the ego, no one can deny from the way he acted after he got to be the number 1 DJ in DJ Mag that his ego didn't get big, and I happen to get disatisfied with DJs who do have this ego. But I will give Tiesto the benefit of the doubt and give ISOS 5 a chance, but he's still not as god-like as people make him out to be...no DJ is...
