Representative of what? The surface of the 80's dance scene? For the record Rockit is the same kind of music as the tunes you put in italics. The only reason you think it fits the 80's is because it was the most popular of them all...hah.

That's where you and I differ. When I think 80's, big hair comes to my mind, a lot of rock songs, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, leg warmers, spandex, ABC, Duran Duran, Human League, B-52's, INXS, Olivia Newton John, Pet Shop Boys, and other forgetten artists and fads that for me define that era. I guess we just have a different perspective.

You're exactly right. 'Rock It' is like the songs I italicized and I didn't include it because as you have said it was popular. Again my perception of the 80's is on New Wave and synth-pop. Yours just happens to be on the underground EDM part of it.
