What do you know about other people's lives?
If he wants rid of the potential child then my guess is that he does not want to have this child, one would expect then that he did not want to knock up the potential mother. Subsequently, it is only logical to deduce that in this instance life has not worked out the way he wants. Even attempting to argue against this is idiotic.

So 16-year-olds having sex, who constitute 50% of the teenaged population, are also "men enough to live with the consequences?"
If they are not then they should not be having sex. Much the same as if you are not man enough to survive living alone you should not consider running away from your parent's house at the age of 13. If they aren't man enough to own up to their responsibilities then once they find out they're going to be a daddy (or mommy) then they'd best mature very quickly. Running away simply is not an acceptable option.

So you're saying it's better for "society" to have children who are not loved and wanted by their fathers?
I'm not saying that at all (but you did make a nice attempt to put words in my mouth). In this instance the father doesn't have an option as to whether or not the child is born (as rights over the featus rest with the mother). Since she has decided that the child will be carried to term and she will maintain her parental rights then he has two choices..... accept his responsibility or neglect it. My position is that neglecting his responsiblity will create negative consequences for his child and potentially for the society in which that child lives.
The truth is we have a real problem with people not accepting responsibility for themselves and their actions. Everyone seems to think they can do whatever they like and never suffer any consequences for it. That is simply unacceptable, especially in instances like this where numerous lives are effected by this boy's irresponsibility.

I was planning on saying something similar but i take enough stick from some corners that I didn't want to end up in yet another argument like that.

My reply "says who? god?" was in reference to your assertion that everyone "should" accept the cards they're dealt. (It was not reference to your point that "life hasn't worked out as expected" - I agree with that obviously).
You know it's so easy to judge others. I'd love to see how you always live up to your responsibilities. Please feel free to cast the first stone if you do. I'm sure you have never ever been given a second chance by your parents to correct your mistakes and every decision in your life has been approached with the "manly" attitude of "taking responsibility."

I've certainly been given second chances but that's not to say I fled from the consequences of my failed first attempts... they are different situations all together.
I can assure you that I have never, in my adult life, attempted to avoid the consequences of my actions. I was raised to honour duty and obligation above all other things and responsibility is something to be sought rather then avoided. Hell, I'll take responsibility for things that aren't even of my own doing simply because someone has to. IMO honouring one's duties, obligations, and responsibilities is what makes a male a man and there is no higher duty, obligation and responsibility then fatherhood.

It's nice having to wear magnums because most girls that carry condoms in their purse don't carry larger-sized condoms.
And LMFAO @ fucking a girl you can't stand. That's hard times. If you can't find a girl you CAN put up with that you DO want to fuck, then FUCKING JERK OFF.

My friend is going through this now....it sucks. He offered to pay for an abortion but she wanted to keep it.So because she wanted to keep it and he didnt have a choice,he wants to be involved in the childs life but she keeps dodging him and making him feel guilty. So hes going to take her to court and try and get custody....that will teach that bitch. She wont let him be alone with the child...she always has to be there. I cant wait to see the look on her face when shes begging for visitation. He has the upperhand as far as being able to afford and house the child. On top of her being diseptive and vindictive....boy I hope he wins.

it's threads like these that make me think that approximately 99% of the people on TA should be sterilized.
