For crappy Electro house, listen to some of Benny Benassi's stuff, yeah "Satisfaction" was good for the first few months but like "Sandstorm" it gets annoying. I think this can be true for a lot of electro house in particular, but I haven't gotten sick of Sander's "The Fruit" yet, yeah it's kinda cheesy, but it is still funky!

Edit: The Ivan Gough & Grant Smillie Mix was just released and it's quite nice.

I don't like it much, and resisted the style early on. Seems gimmicky and soulless most of the time. I find electro detrimental to most any genre it descends upon, shattering the unique character of a style into a thousand bland, bleepy-bloopy pieces.

I think this is especially true for house. Electro house doesn't feel like house at all. There's no feeling. And house is all about feeling.

True but I don't think electro house was ever made to be taken seriously. It's party music, it's fun music, it's funky music that is made for dancing and for clubs. I love music with soul and emotion (and dancing to it too) but when it comes to music for a party, I would want some funky stuff to dance to as well, and this is the purpose of this style of house. Not all dance music is about feeling or emotion, some of it's just fun, and this is what people like to do at parties, have fun. Not saying I can tolerate it all the time, but a nice Sander K set ever so often is a good thing. But again this is my subjective view so don't take it personally...

Yeah same here, that stuff gets me in the mood, unless Armin or PvD are playing really bangin' sets. The more melodic and serious stuff I prefer to chill to or make mixed CDs with just to listen to. Don't mind dancing to it as well, but when I think of partying I think of having a good ole time, not really going on a "journey" per say, so funky stuff does it for me. Thats why I would really want to see Sander K or James Zabiela live, they really play party music.

Electro house is hardly funky, any more than Hard House is hard.

It's stale, it's one-trick, it lacks substance, but it's still fun. I don't expect it to be some long-lasting trend, just a passing fad. And if it remains at it's current strength beyond this year, I'll be surprised, and probably a bit annoyed.

Now Cirez D I can stand although I wouldn't call his work electro house. Maybe 'Lost Love' could be considered electro house but that's it.
