Like above, Ableton is a sick addition for a studio. When I think about it, personnaly and other artist... Why would you want to limit yourself to only Ableton?
A lot of producers and engineers use certain app's for ease of use and strengths.
I cant stand Pro tools, but so many swear by it for audio recording, recoridng bands.
Logic re-wired to reason i like a lot. Ableton for out giggin
Another thing to keep in mind is, Ableton is heavy on your processor. its better though in 5.2 Logic with a DP G5 is like being a kid in a toy store. Distributed Audio Procesing is a feature not many other programs have.
I know some people who work soley in Pro tools but also reason.
It seems some steinberg consumers are stuck up on Nuendo or Cubase - and apple guys go for Logic.
Lastly, I dont know another program that can run 150 tracks, countless plug ins, and crazy automation as well as Logic off of a MOTU interface. I know Ableton cant..
Enough of my digressing.. to answer the original question.. I think its a tool in the tool box that can be benifial to anybody.
