Well if you read my example of wanting to jump up onto the tables and dance, you would understand the expectations and restrictions I am referring to.

If I had the choice, I would swim naked all the time, I would dance on the chairs in a restaurant if I felt the wish to, I would wear a clown wig for fun etc. If I did these kinds of things, people would call me an attention whore and/or send me to the loony bin.

Perhaps I am not restricted in such a way that it's impossible for me to do these things, but if I want to avoid negative repercussions of things like this, then I best not do them.

Are you honestly telling me that, if I decided to consistantly behave in a way that isn't "acceptable" by societies standards, you don't think people would begin questioning how sound my mind was?

I would most certainly become a social outcast and I would be most likly kicked out of places or "escorted" out.

i thought you meant in your own circle of society, in which the consequences are of minute importence. about society at large - who gives a fuck? there are rules you agree with and there are rules that you don't.

those that you agree with are completely irrelavant (especially considering you're complaining about the restraints of society rather than on some cognitive dissonance).

those that you don't are often ones that can be broken quite easily, and with little-to-no consequences (unless you are in fact a nutjob in which case.... )
