I say ditto to what was said above. Raves out here suck. Too many kiddies all E'd/K'd/whatever out, a handful of peeps dancing, the same locals play almost every event. The headliners have pretty much been the same for the last 8 years.
Then on top of that, prolly half of them get shut down early due to lack of permits, etc.
You will see more of a variety of headlining DJ's in the clubs then at the small gatherings called raves here in AZ.
Did you know Markus Schulz is finally making a return appearance to AZ!! Playing at Myst on Sept 4...I think. (pondering a new thread for the event....) |
Hey there.
Im pretty new to the boards, but not new the AZ scene at all. I personally am not too thrilled to read the post I just quoted. There are alot of good partys that have gone down in the last year. Megatronik, Rememberance, Luvdup, Earthdance2005, Philter, Acid Reign, Wonder2, Metropolis to name a few.
There are alot of people like myself that try to help the scene out in this desert state. And work really hard to try to improve it.
We try our best to bring the dope headliners out her, but you'll have to understand that competing with a club like Myst (which I love) can be pretty difficult. Especially when they have the eventvibe and londen west resources they do. On top of that a dj will typically get more exposure and more money for playing a 2 hour set at myst then they would at a underground.
In my own opinon though...its when people who have been in the scene for a while dog it that makes our scene look bad.
We have great vibes here...legendary desert partys, and alot of amazing local talent.
As for the e'd/k'd/whatever'd out kiddies that are out there. Dude AZ has nothing to do with that. It's that way in every state that raves it up. I've scene it all around dude. Its just something in the scene. People get there dance on at the partys I've named and been a part of. If they were'nt then we wouldnt throw them or I wouldnt have a part in it.
So as for myself and Mindblownsound we'll continue to bring you the best we can. And things will only get better.
I know I can speak for my boys from Conspiracy of Hope and Organized Confusion also.
