"Choon" is not so-named because all Europeans say it like that. As far as I know, the word comes from Britain. Back in the mid-90s, cyber kids used to hold up cardboard "TUNE!" signs in clubs, which is where the phrase comes from. The slang phonetic "choon" is probably from the Hooj Choons (Huge Tunes) record label, which released loads of classic trance before going bust.
