I wasn't trying to turn it into a Mac v. PC debate in the least, simply stating my opinion in opposition to yours. That's terrific that "Apparat" had his Mac crash twice, I don't know how he has it setup, or how much BS he's installed on his computer to make it run worse. Beyond that, what are the specs of your G5 macs in class? I guess I just see you referencing very specific situations that clearly do not apply across the board. I simply stated "to each their own" and provided my opinion on a subject that I felt you addressed with overly simplistic and situation specific arguments as opposed to anything concrete. I also never called you "wrong" or attempted to instigate you into defending your position, I understand that there are plenty of producers and "DJ's" out there using both Windows and Mac OS based PC's and that each will have their own preference. Unfortunately, as I said, you simply referenced, at the very least, incomplete, if not entirely inaccurate, information regarding the Mac vs. PC debate.

People are often quick to say that Mac users are bandwagon elitists, but I seem to find it often the case that the people who argue most vehemently "bash" the other side are PC users who seem to have this preconceived notion that all of "us" Mac users think all of "you" PC users are somehow lacking in refinement or credibility as they haven't made the appropriate leap to the "better" machine. This clearly is not the case with me or my response to you.

In the same sense that you are offering the possibility that you weren't attempting to start a "mac vs. pc" debate, then you should respect the fact that neither was I. Your initial statement was hardly objective, and I felt it deserved a courteously stated counterpoint, your decision to address that was your own. I respect your opinion and know that you've done plenty as a producer, including what I think is possibly the greatest progressive track ever created. That, however, doesn't change the fact that I felt your initial post deserved at the very least a counterargument from someone on the other side of the fence.

Whether or not you wish to turn it into a debate is up to you, but for now, all I'm saying is the following:

Pro Tools runs, no problem whatsoever, on my PowerMac G4 SE, and on my iBook G4. Ableton runs fine with up to 3 VSTI's open at once, however I will admit that beyond that is pushing it and will likely make whatever program you're running crash.

My opinion of Macs is based solely on my experience, and so is yours. So debate or not, we've both offered our opinions and those considering their options are at the very least, not being bombarded with information that is displaying a single clear bias, but rather two very different points on a singular issue.
