Ok, so everyone write's their own little complaint and then they all get sent off right? Alright, I'm down with that...except, I haven't been to the Guv yet...so, should I write one too?

First off thanks alot!!! as far as making a new thread on the board, i don't know if thats really necessary and i don't know how appreciative swamper would be of it.. We already have this thread and the more replies we get to it, the more people will be interested to see whats going on, if you guys still think WE should open a new thread then i will.. And pass the word along out to all yur friends who go to guv, and have some complaints.. I want both the positive and the negatives though.. not just put downs of how bad guv is.. But, how they could make it better, and how you feel as a customer your rights are being violated..

And, as far as just sending them all the threads, i don't think that would be a good idea, do to alot of stupidity that is said in some posts.. And there's often lots of mindless vulgarity.. not that, thats bad, but i don't think that would be the best way to get our message across to the guvernment management and owners.. Please keep the great suggestions and ideas coming... And lets get those e-mails in too ... Much respect to all who are gonna stand up for what they believe in..

See, the point is, WE are the customers; not sheep.
There is absolutely no doubt in anyone's mind that they were way over capacity on Sat. nite.

There are a couples ideas that I have:

1) A temmplate email should be made up by us regarding our concerns with their (Guv's) headcount policy. It should be neat, clean and without prejudice. It should be clear that if they don't comply with our 'suggestion' that we will investigate Toronto City Bylaws and remind them of their legal entertainment responsibilities.
(I'm sure they don't want a fire marshal sitting outside their door doing the headcount for them at their expense.)

2) The template email should be posted somewhere (possibly here; Swamper you ok with that?) so that everyone concerned can cut and paste into the body of their email.

3) We need to find out who the owner is. I have not idea if he/she gives two hoots but they might if they start getting a couple hundred emails.

4) Why don't we use city hall to our advantage? With the success of IDance and what it stands for, this can be used a leverage and support our concern. But only if we don't get a straight answer from them.

If the email is done 'legal' looking enough, they might recognize that we're not the crackheads they let in to fill space.
There are power in numbers, and to be brutally honest, WE pay their bills.

I'm definately willing to help out; whatever we need.

I have a friend who is very well versed in commerial bylaws (he's an Ontario Baliff) and he's dealt with clubs in Toronto before.
I have family who have access to legal advice.
And I'm sure, we can go to the City of Toronto website and find some data that we need to support our cause.

I'm not looking to close this place down, let's just put a little reality in their face.

That is why i refuse to attend big events at the guv (most the time) because i hate the packed atmosphere. I LOVE THE KOOLHAUS.......more space there and all events are ticketed, so i never have to wait in line. But we have not had an accident yet (so that is something to be proud of). Case and point......you don't feel safe then don't go.

If you don't feel safe then don't go??!?!? Come on man.. Why do we have to take things sitting down all the time?? Why not do something about it and see if you can change things.. Maybe nothing will really change in the end, but at least you can say hell i tried.. And, you never know maybe something will change, maybe the guv will wake up and see that not all there customers are crackheads that get so drunk or high, they couldn't care less if there was room in there.. I party and club sober, I love the music and i love to dance, and to dance and enjoy the music, i need at least enough room so that i can stand without getting knocked around every 2 mins, the guv ownership has to realize that they do have to respect there customers, like was said in an earlier post, WE DO pay there bills, and if we get enough people to speak out, they will have to listen... .. ..

I also, just want to make clear that none of us want to close down the Guvernment they bring in the top artists that all the music lovers want to hear.. All i want to do, is make them listen to what there customers have to say, listen to our opinions and suggestions.. And, maybe they will realise that there own customers should not be pushed around and treated like garbage.. Whatever happend to " the customer is allways right.."?? in my job, we bend over backwards to make customers happy. Guvernment couldn't care less about the people who make there pay checks..

ok..Im not part of this..but if it makes ANY difference to you, Ferry was here the night after TO, and he specifically said he was having a better time here with out ~1500 (Maybe that many) crowd, cuz we were a nicer, friendlier crowd. Maybe you could bring up the DJs not liking coming to the club as much due to the crowds....

I dunno, I didnt believe him @ the time (cmon, its the Guv), But now I do!

I don't see why Ferry would say he had a 'bad' time at the Guv. He seemed very into his set, and continued to play after his slot was done. The crowd was fully into him, & he was very friendly to the few people who came up to meet him at the DJ booth. If he just prefers playing smaller parties, that's another thing. I don't think he had to experience any of the complaints the patrons had from his spot in the DJ booth.

and if GUV keeps on bringing all these top DJs on regular Sat. nights and keeps them in the main room, well... there's gonna be even shittier nights than this one, last Sat. with Ferry.

(I liked the music and I was surrounded by a shitload of friends too, so it didn't turn out that bad for myself)

They should either bring those DJs on Wedn. nite (as they did with PVD) and then 90% of the crowd is gonna be there mostly for the music (who else wants to go out on Wed. nite and get mashed or whatever?!)... or keep them in Kool Haus, bring the DJ down on the floor (as they did with Deep Dish), and keep the regular crackheads/ginos in the main room, while those who know what's going on in the Kool Haus can enjoy it with plenty of room to dance...

If they can't pull this off, well, then just leave it up to SonicState crew to bring in all these hype DJs and organize it in a venue that will have more than enough room for dancing, friendlier people and atmosphere, etc...
