For a second I was totally confused. I was like "what's a dog question?" And then I remembered your post . Well, since Muslims have to make "wudu" (cleanse themeselves) before prayer (5 times a day), many conservatives are not particularly fond of dogs since they're not the cleanest of pets as opposed to cats for example (they consider dog's to be "impure" or "unclean"). So I suppose this is another case of fundamentalist imposing on others (they're trying to legislate convenience ).

Well in Iraq the Americans collaborated with a dodgy criminal in Ahmed Chalabi and in afghanistan they kissed ares to islam karimov of the uzbek republic.
these days it doesnt surprise me at all who the US goes to bed with.
The son of the Shah definitely doesnt surprise me.
There is no way the son of the shah will be welcomed back in iran by the general population. Sure they want a much more liberal society and extensive reform within the islamic republic but not to the extent where they would let the son of the shah take control. Your dreaming if u think otherwise.

Personally I would favor the Shah's regime over the current one, although to be honest neither of them are the best possible option. But considering that the third option is a full out war and Iraq-like anarchy, all in all future doesn't look rosy for the people there.

I was going to say that this isn't a liberation mission but a war until i read the very last part of your post about the people's future. If the people are honestly concerned as i hope any human being would who's not blind and guilable. They woud support the Shah's son who won't bring suffering and a nuclear war to them.

Ah, thanks. So it's not really a religious dog-hate per se, rather a shunning of things unclean in general.
Couldn't understand why anyone could hate doggies...

Too bad your brain works this way. Because when the oil runs out, they still got plenty of more exports left. As a matter of fact, when the oil runs out, America will be the first to be fucked with their consumption.
Sand, wow, so is this what the defintion of sand is in your special education class?

That looks like it's just one specific region. Besides the area around rivers and such, there is quite a bit of sand in the middle east!

Yeah so? That's like saying China has alot of dogs (well maybe not anymore) or America has alot of tornados.
Tornados happen usually to specific locations and the same locations over and over even though it might happen to other locations aswell.
Sand might be present but it's not like it covers the place, that's just typical arrogance talk, it might just be in specific parts, over 60% of Iran looks like those pictures i showed. It is just in places that don't get shown on the media.

that looks beautiful. i would love to travel through Iran one day. It is such a shame that the great city of Bam was destroyed in the earthquake, that would have been one of the most amazing wonders of the world
