I'm using DJ software because I can't afford to buy two decks. Well so far it can help to catch a beat but DJ isn't matching the beats isn't it. To be DJ is to use good tracks and catch the points where one can fit them together not just playing one after each other.
So why not trying by software and see how creative one is...

I'm doing with Atomix but will try mixmeister soon..

Currently I use Traktor and my MIDI controller. I assigned the crossfader to one of the sliders, and assigned my 8 knobs to the EQs, etc. It's working very well for me until I can afford some real decks. By then I will probably go the route of Final Scratch and have an all-around package.

And I'll be able to do looping within Traktor whilst using Final Scratch. That's why the thought excites me!

I'm using Traktor Studio 3, and its the best out there.. i've been useing different mixing studios such as MixVibes, Virtual DJ, Behringer Dj, but i never got the quality in feel and useability as in traktor. I've been using traktor from the first generation og i can only say that they are getting better!!

I use a cheap MIDI controler so i don't have to do all the mixing with the mouse, it's called Behringer BCD2000.. it's very cheap, buuut.. wouldn't recommend it.. it's to dificault to set up at the feel just isn't right

I've been looking at a different one that i've been growing found of.. it's called Kontrole-DJ http://www.kontrol-dj.com/

Or the Zone:3D from Allen & Heath.. buut.. it's a bit over my budget
