Inflatable pools? COME ON!! I can see this law applying to permanant pools but INFLATABLE ONES??

sheesh!

Whats next? A ban on slip and slides?

A kid can drown in a bathtub. These rules aren't a bad idea. Just get a padlock (assuming you have a fence).

We had a pool growing up and had to make our fences higher. Kids still jumped the fence to pool hop.

Kids and handicapped people need to be supervised... BY PEOPLE NOT THE GOVERNMENT

im all for the law when it comes to regular permanant swimming pools. But for inflatable ones? Give me a break!

For the record, I agree with Tatgirl. If someone comes onto my property and falls in the water then they shouldnt have been on my property in the first place. And if they are of an age where they are vunerable enough to fall in and drown then where are the parents?

Our society is a litigous one....id doesn't matter if they shouldn't be on your property or not...people have sucessfully one lawsuits where they broke into someone's house and got hurt. The by-law is only there to protect you...even if you don't agree with it....it is still there for your protection....if you can change the way our society thinks then these by-laws would not be necessary....don't think that they just come up with these by-laws....something has happened which caused them to think that this is necessary.

Sadly, I know how our society works. My commentary is that it shouldnt work that way. Id love to see laws passed that specifically say that if you enter someone's property and you are trespassing, you do so at your own risk. Why cant people pass laws like that instead of dumb ones like this?

Meh... They're not talking about kiddie pools in Oakville. These are ones that hold more than 2 FEET of water, much more than any kiddie pool I've ever seen, like Dan's admirable pool pic. Anybody can drown in 2 feet of water. I've pulled out a couple of drunken-ass friends out of my inground pool from the shallow end, which is as shallow as a wallmart blow-up special.

Now what really p*sses me off is Aurora's new outdoor water use regulation that makes it illegal for me to top up my pool when they have a water ban during the hot summer days. The whole point of having a pool is to cool off in it during the hottest summer days, so I don't run my central air all day long.

We get 90% of our water from underground, and the city keeps allowing these massive developments everywhere. Any town council that created bylaws due to their own ineptitude and bad planning don't deserve to be in office.

Your cue Jay....

...and there's a few newspaper slappin, insultin' and swearin' that should be on their way out, and you in.

Thats why im voting for Nigel Kean this year. Time to dump our current mayor. Tim Jones is getting a little too arrogant.
