The correct advice is to buy a decent mixer, not a DJX-700. I used to own a DJM-600, btw, and I regularly use a friend's 700. It's really awful. I would rather have a two-channel Vestax than that POS. That would be well worth the extra $50. Anyway, MikeyN is making the right decision by going with a Vestax. FX or not, it's the way to go. Although personally, at that price point, I would go for the Ecler Nuo3.

Point proven. This person has obviously taken offense to what ive said. Fact of the matter is that honestly - the only way to tell what you're going to appreciate/use more is what you decide is best. This is the worst place to ask for advice because of these trolls here. I think you made a good decision tho! good luck in DJing and just beware when you come here for advice.

What point was proven? That practically every statement in your post is incorrect? That he followed my advice, not yours?

Look, you seem like an alright guy. Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't make them wrong. That's great that you love your DJX-700. Just realize that you're in the minority.

Care to elaborate? On both you can mix four channels simultaneously.

1st point, I do not have the DJX-700. My good friend Kyle has it and It has been a problem from the start. Here are some problems him and I had with the mixer starting approximately 9 months ago when he purchased it.

1. Crackling / irregular faders - Just up until recently, channel faders 2/3 started crackling and Kyle has not significanly used it to such an extent. Also the fact he jump in noise from 9-10 is soo irregular, smooth mixing is quite tedious.

2. My friend told me that the effects are a joke. It was not until I actually them out while playing Holden & Thompson - Nothing (93 returning mix) did i start laughing. Personally, the effects should not even be a feature of this mixer if they are so horrible.

3. WTF is up with the noise on the BPM reader....hold that though...what is up with the actual BPM reader. My friend used it once and It was so inaccurate that he placed a peice of tape over it. Even though he knows how to beatmatch pretty well, he just wanted to use it (as an emergency) in case he is spinning 3 tracks at the same time. USELESS.

4. Brought it back to Sam Ash because of the faders, etc. They said they could not fix it at all (took them 5 weeks to tell him that, 5 god damn weeks). Instead of just sending it back to Behringer, he gave it to his younger brother. Being that Kyle is getting a corporate office job soon and right now is saving up some money for expenses, he purchased the stanton RM-100 from www.hollywooddj.com. Nice build, 4 channels, smooth faders, XLR balanced connectors and an effects loop (he sometimes borrows his cousin's efx-500 to play around with) all for the price of $200.

Right now he is saving up to get either a DNX-1500 or a NUMARK 5000FX. I actually tested the 5000-FX at this shop in Chinatown, NYC and I have to say IT's FREAKIN AWESOME. THE EFFECTS SECTION ALONE is worth the price, seriously. Not to mention the awesome build and features GALORE. Best thing. The dude negotiated it down to $420 including tax. I think i will pick this up myself unless the DNX-1500 goes down in price.

Well thats my honest review.
