Alright I feel like I need to write a better review cause I just woke up and I am still pumped, ears are ringing, and I'm wishing I was still @ the Docks.
Drove down at around 9:15, doors didn't open until about 9:30. Absolutely FROZE my ass off in the line (why so cold on May24 weekend?!!?), but the docks security did a pretty good job at checking everyone in line really quickly and getting people in once the doors opened.
So, walked in quickly into the back room and the main section of the club was still closed off, you couldn't see what was there. Ran into techead, said hello but he was busy in last minute preparations. Finally at around 10 or so the doors opened and everyone just RAN to the stage - it was like one of those stadium concerts when they open the doors and people just run like crazy to catch a spot at the front. Long story short, the place was packed by 10:30.
Miller played an awesome set, and no he did not "sell out" and played a lot of great house/prog tracks. I can't believe he played Pete Heller's - Big Love...hahaha I kinda went crazy to that one.
The front stage had 2 huge curved "arms" with lights all over them and a huge screen with the ISOS 5 album cover was hanging in front of the stage. At 12 Tiricky T and I started losing it...the build up was just too much and by 12:30 we were screaming our heads off. We finally saw Tiesto through the screen (it was rather see through with all the lights), and the crowd went insane!!!
He started off playing one of the ISOS tracks with a nice melody going, and, as soon as the beat came on the screen drops from the ceiling to reveal an INCREDIBLE stage...lights, screens, the whole thing - Tiesto had a soft light behind him so it was ass in the theme of ISOS - really amazing. THEN the fun started at the front, and after about an hour of trying to survive it I've decided to head back.
The middle section was perfect, room to dance, lots of nice people, and incredible sound. It was definitely louder than last year as many have mentioned. Tiesto really seemed like he was enjoying himself up there as usual and he was actually taking lots of pictures with his own camera i think of the crowd and everything.
LOL...when I heard the first few sounds of Flight 643 I started losing it completely, yelling, jumping, and screaming - and people around me were staring at me and going "buddy wtf calm down lol"...but at soon as the driving beat came on and everyone realized what track that was the place erupted!
Speaking of Flight 643...the mix from the song before it, into Flight was the most incredible perfect match up of tracks I've ever heard, it was just...SO PERFECT!
