*whoosh*

That's the sound of my post going right over your head.

I understand you're learning the language, but what language is it that you're coming from that uses so many periods? African?

Hip Hop just doesn't go in neither MTL nor Quebec. The French speaking majority just can't understand or associate with hip hop culture. Ever hear of a Rappeur Québecois? But it is more appreciated on the west (anglophone) side of the city more.

Lack of appreciation of English-speaking culture results in loss of interest, like the Alouettes and the Expos.

(Alouettes have since returned, but to an English part of the city and an affordable stadium)

I dont agree. Quebec is FULL of hip hop and that crap. Most stores play the radio or house these days. (well unless you go into some ghetto store like stitches...they will play hip hop).

A few stores have even been playing trance!

Full... u uh... nowhere near enough interest in hiphop to have a radio station like we do here.

Les Québecois who call themselves 'pure laine' frown upon anything English.

+1

There are very few clubs in Mtl except for afterhours that actually play house. And even afterhours have hip hop rooms.

I was in Paris last year. Most places play hip hop.

Barcelone - same story. I remember walking thru the strip of clubs in the Olympic port and all of them were playing hip hop and only one played commercial house. We got in there, and it was empty. So the dj was forced to switch to hip hop.

Cuba this year. Lot of tourirsts from Itlay, France, and other places going CRAZY to the sounds of hip hop & rnb.

House scene in toronto is actually pretty good - lots of djs, lots of clubs that play it, big headliners every weekend.... And amazing resident djs such as M&S, Addy, Dekoze , etc etc.

True that! I'm from Mtl and only a small amount of the population actually want to separate.

The scene is definitively big on House but like any other city, you can find any other genre!

Western Europe and hip hop are a VERY new combo. And i have MTV Europe as the blame for that.
