I'm actually in the process of writing a book about the edm scene. I have alot of stories to share.
Just a peek at what to expect...I got to pick up Armin Van Buuren from the airport on his first gig ever in LA.
And luftanza airline lost his luggage and he was scheduled to play that night.
We needed up going to a nearby record store called DMC records on melrose and borrower some records to play that night at the Mayan. But no one in attendance had any clue. That's why he is one of the best in the world at what he does. Super nice guy!!!

Ha! How did I know you were in your late 20's? Cuz I always hear the same thing from many guys around your age and those in their early 30's. I guess it could be from over doing it when it comes to partying. It's like everything else... you need to pace yourselves so you don't feel burned out.

Actually TSG, age has nothing to do with it for me personally anyways. I'm not sure about the other guys.
It's really hard for you to understand the main reason for my decision. I will put it in the words of the Great King Solomon "All is vanity".
I just wish it hadn't taken me this long to realize that.

life is what you make of it. if you make it all vanity then it will be. if you make life mean something then it will.

It takes some people a lot longer. Clubbing is a finite experience. You enjoy yourself and then get the hell out and move on to something more productive. Happens to everyone eventually.

I apologize, I do not know your name. But your statement above is a lie and couldn't be much more further from the truth. It doesn't even sound good in poetry.
Before you reply back please consider the unfortunate ones around the world such as the starving dying children throughout the world.

you need to not take the statement as literal fact and think of it deeper. it is similar to the "do you view the glass as half empty or half full?" saying. its basically saying, you determine how you live your life and what you get out of it. its not saying that you determine what you are born and raised in. its saying that if you dont like something, change it. if its not something you can change, ie the government, then deal with it and make the best out of it. the statement is true and fact unless you take it as literal as you did. i apologize that i dont know your name either, but before you go around insulting others inteligence you should probably ask about the meaning of a statement or figure of speach before you start trying to make me appear as an ass that doesnt care about the attrocities that the US government and others elsewhere are continuing to commit and permit.

I used to think highly of you before your recent reply.

I couldn’t help but notice this post. I’m in my late 20’s and feel kind of worn out from the clubbing experience. I understand how you feel when it comes to the Southern California; vanity is definitely the prevalent theme down here and after a while can sour the experience. In addition to that I think we all have to “grow” up and pursue our dreams. If Djing is your goal then I guess constant clubbing may have some benefits, but even then one has to give up the partying and focus on goals. For me it was entering business school. I think our priorities change; when I was younger I just wanted to go see every DJ even on weeknights but I got older I realized I couldn’t become successful hanging out in the EDM scene 24/7.
BTW will your book be a semi-fictional account or like a collection of memoirs? This caught my interest b/c in my spare time I really enjoy film and writing. I’ve written several embellished short stories based on my own experiences. I was also interested in working on a fictional film script about the scene here in Los Angeles; a sort of ‘Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas’ meets ‘Saturday Night Live’ take on the clubbing scene here based on my own personal observations and the people I’ve met…there’s no dearth in the amount of people from which to derive interesting and outlandish characters from…
