i was about to post almost the exact same thing, but yeah. my gf is in cali for 3 months, but we aren't taking a break from anything. in fact, i'm even going to fly down there and see her for a week.
yeah, its just an easy way out because you don't want to be committed. either break it off, or keep it together, don't play games, it's not worth it in the end.
yeah thats true good advice.. thanks

so what happens if you meet another girl that you totally click with while your girlfriend is away... do you tell her you have a girlfriend who's coming back in a few months?
Yes I've done a break before. For 2 years. It was one of the hardest things to do...but also the best thing that ever happened to our relationship.
I know how you feel. It's the exact same reason I wanted..NEEDED..a break. It's hard to make the other party understand this, and trust your reasons for doing so, because even if you're up to no good...they're still going to think that's what you're doing.

no i don't. Ill tell her that im on a break with my girlfriend who ive only been seeing for one month.
Then if things start to take off, ill decide then whether i want to break up with my girlfriend or stop things with this new girl.
I would expect her to do the same with me.
i guess you wouldnt agree with this lucid.

honestly, that's fucked up.
if you want the option of exploring what else is out there you shouldn't be in a relationship at all, whether you're "on a break" or not. it's very unfair and hurtful to do that to your girlfriend. it seems like you're concerned more about what is most convenient for you, rather than other people's feelings. you can't just trade girls like library books.

you don't need a "break"... you need a break-up.
you can't just take a 4 month vacation from your partner and expect everything to be all fine and cool when she gets back. you're either together or you're not... and you two need to decide on that together.
I already decided for him when I slept with her on day 3 of their 4 month break.
no guilt here.

maybe thats true.. but your not seeing the big picture i dont think..
we've only been together a month.. and we're on break for 4 months
thats like youve been with your boyfriend for a year.. and now your off for 4 years.. are you going to keep the relationship going? or say your on break and w'ell see what happens when you get back..
