i think this is the biggest misconception about this guy. following him previously (with my favourite NFL team Miami Dolphins), he has always had a positive attitude/vibe. soft spoken, intelligent, but.... to the general public he is and always will be a 'bad guy', because he chose to continue to smoke weed while playing football.
when growing up he set a goal for himself to win the heisman trophy to establish himself as a high draft pick, therefore setting himself up for great financial success. at the time he thought this would bring him happiness, and once entering the nfl with such high expectations (after being traded for an nfl record SIX draft picks), he came out the gates at a moderate pace, and people considered him a bust. it wasnt until about three years after he started his nfl career that he realized this wasn't something he enjoyed, and the money that came with it didnt bring him the happiness he expected.
he then fled the country, went to austrailia, africa, india, to find himself, and what really brought him happiness. he loves to teach, he loves yoga, and he loves his weed..... but at the end of the day, money makes the world go 'round - so he came back to miami, to fulfill the rest of his contract (or end up owing the dolphins 8+ million). he then came back to miami, to play three quarters of last season, only to test positive for the fourth time (in the offseason) for some foreign chemicals (beleived to be found in herbal remedies he took in india).
bottom line.... this guy doesn't love the game. he never has, he never will. he plays it as a means of income, just like the majority of society when it comes to their employment. he's coming to toronto not because he loves it here, not because its a good fit, and not because he likes the franchise..... its because its the only job he could find that would pay him $245,000 US.
with all that being said, i personally think he could be one of the most interesting athletes of our time, and i am ecstatic to have him play here in toronto. even though he may not enjoy playing football, he is still EASILY one of the top five in his position in the world. if he stays healthy, he will break every rushing record in the CFL books, and toronto will be a LOCK for the grey cup.
found out last month my company is a sponser for the argo's, so i will be sitting as a rep for moores to watch every game this year
