Cool, I actually still work at MSK. I used to be a session assitant at main campus, but now I'm an RSA for the Health Outcomes group on E. 63rd. I split my time btwn there and recruiting pts for our study at 53rd St. I love the peds unit =) It's so vibrant, and it's such an inspriation when the kids are upbeat despite what they are going through.
Brian, re: the care package, anything to distract her during chemo would be useful. Some treatments take up to 4 hours of IV, not including waiting room time. So I'd suggest movies if she's got a portable DVD player, music, reading materials, games, etc. One side effect can be dry skin, so maybe a nice lightly-scented lotion and lip balm.
