the nhl needs marketable star athletes...breaking records that mean nothing to a majority of america isn't gonna do it. i hate to say this but jose theodore with paris hilton is better than no publicity. the nhl has tried rivalries but it's doubtful how much they work outside the two cities...the avs and red wings was huge (i'll never forget vernon and roy beating the shit out of each other on the red line...nominee for best hockey fight ever) but that has died out with the messed up new schedule and the gutting of both teams. i haven't mentioned this but i HATE the damn scheduling...i'm NEVER gonna see the avs in freaking ny or anywhere close. anyhow, hockey is damanaged and needs more than just crosby and ovechkin, it really needs for them to be total sellouts, continue playing well AND partying with/dating people like lindsay lohan or whoever happens to be hot at the time and over course dropping some type of rap album or getting a reality show on mtv. that should help with ratings because now NASCAR is killing the nhl...
