I'm pretty certain the first mixer I played out on, which was a Denon (I'm afraid I couldn't tell you for the life of me what model it was), had at least 5-band (maybe as much as 8-band) eq on the left and right channels of the master output.

But again, I may be wrong... memory's a bit hazy lol

You obviously know more than me about this so I'll leave you to

Here's a short history on Mixer EQs on DJ Mixers

Late 70's - Mid 80's 5 Band Equalizers

Mid 80's - Today 7 Band Equalizers

There are a few cheaper brands (Pyramid, PlyePro) that
offer 10 Band Equalizers.

5 Band Equalizers were phased out when the 7 band came
along.

I actually have a mixer dating back to the mid 80's, and, one going back to the late 70's.

Nothing special, but they do work.

I'll post a picture later on today.

I think this mixer was made in 1983. That would make it 23 years old!!!

If you look at the second post in this link it says PHONIC MRT 1983.

STU! Here Are The Pics

Late 70's - Early 80's

Early - Mid 80's

Both were designed for mixing (Not Scratching)

The Lafayette Mixer offers a Rotary Crossfader

The Gemini Mixer offers Smooth Faders with resistance,
and holds three decks

Both work perfectly.
