Well that sample is Sunlounger's "White Sand." So the melody has alreay been used. If you want to use the actual patch, be my guest!

Peace,
DJS

Hmmm. Now explain something to me. What exactly is the sawtooth 16 in Malstrom. Granted, it's a sawtooth wave, but with 16 peaks in it? So basically You have. 32 saw waves per malstrom, and then a total of 96 waves after you combine your 3 Malstroms.

That's a lot of sawdust. *lame joke*

to be honest I haven't really taken any time to investigate that any closer, I know it gets me the sound I want
But I'm suspecting you're absolutley correct, and yeah...that does produce a shitload of sawdust

Here I go...

The Malstrom is a "Granular Synthesizer." This means that its a sort of sampler that puts together small bits of audio into a greater whole. The "sawtooth*16" is a sample of 16 sawtooth waves detuned for one phase cycle "time before the detuned oscillators reach their original position. The motion knob changes the speed the synth plays the grains of that sample, thus, making it sound less or more detuned. You will hear that its a sample because each time you play with that wave selected, you will get a harsh pluck, which means its not a free running oscillator. This can be solved by modulating the Index parameter so it never starts the sample in the same position. This gives it a more JP-8000 sound.

I have done that with my patch posted above.

L8r,
DJS
