i hate tag team djing...always ends up with problems...

-the guy goes in a completely different direction with songs
-guy usually tends clear the dance floor
-you still can't get drunk because you have to switch on again

Some pretty bad things happen in clubs.

Probably the most disturbing experience that I have had is being in the DJ booth when the club has just filled up with police requesting that the night be stopped due to a girl being raped in the mens room.

I have also had a beer glass smashed on my forehead by some girls jelous boyfriend. Thankfully these days English pint glasses are made to shatter otherwise I would be doing by Al Pacino Scarface impression for the rest of my life.

Experience other bad things too but these stick in my mind.

It's also pretty nasty when you see someone go into a fit (bit like epilepsy) on the dancefloor.

Cheers
Nem

Ok, so the story starts at a house party. I was rocking the house just doing my thing, when some drunk guy stumbled into the booth and knocked my beer off the table and spilled the whole thing rigth into my dj bag. I did everything i could to soak it up before in seaped into the covers of my favorite choons. once i got home, the plastic sleeves that i keep on all my records were stuck together, but it seemed like the wax and the covers were spared.

the following week i was in the booth, rocking out the club at my weekly. I was throwing together a really great set and had the whole place jumpin, when all of a sudden the record that i was playing lost its tracking and the needle went screeching toward the spindle. I pulled the stylus immediately, but not before killing the atmosphere and everyone on the dancefloor was holding their hands over their ears. I was so pissed that I pulled the record off the platter, spun around and shattered it on the railing behind me. Pieces of shattered vinyl went flying everywhere. I turn around and throw up the level on my cued track and everyone just stood there looking at me like "holy shit, that guy has some serious anger management problems. remind me not to piss him off."

it took another 30 minutes to build the energy back up to where it was, and by that time, half the crowd had cleared out. My promoter came up to me and was like "damn dude, i know it killed your set, but did you have to go off like that?"

yes, yes i did, all because of some dumb drunk mother****** at the house party the week before...

Man that's totally not a bad experience. A bit annoying perhaps but nothing you cant deal with. I had the worst experience when I tried DJing for a crowd who wasn't talking about anything outside of top 40 a year ago. You can check that here: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=291165

hint Darkside = Lightside (me).
