I understand that people deal with tragedy differently.
But does that mean that we have to wait till everybody heals
to remember the events?
I think Hollywood has a right to make 9/11 movies five years later
to educate those that want to learn.
I feel people on this
board want to limit the exposure of people to history that is
changing our world as we speak and that scares me because that sure doesn't sound American.

I agree that many on this board may not need a Hollywood re-hash.
But to reach kids these days this film can really tell a good
story. For those that don't need to see it then stay home and
wait until it's time to re-live that day. Whenever that may be.
But many global citizens need to be re-educated about 9/11 and this film, if
well done, can so that for many.
I think everyone should keep an open mind about
I saw the 9/11 documentary and it was very well done and
will be hard to top. But we need perspectives and
new cinema and not just stop making 9/11 work because its
been covered.

well i think if you want to inundate kids, there's already plenty of newsmedia and amateur footage thoroughly documenting the REAL event plus volumes of witness accounts, interviews and documentaries. do we really need to watch the towers collapsing from a ground zero point of view to appreciate the gravity and horror of the situation? |
IMO- YES. So we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one.

Loose Change >>>>>>>>>>> x1000 than anything Hollywood can make up.
I respect Oliver Stone...and probably like 90% of his movies, he should have passed on this one.

I've seen too much abject narcissism from filmmakers and studio people to believe that this is anything other than self-promotion. Trivializing the scope of tragedy for someone's artistic expression (aka personal gain). Film should be used as a device for escapism. Full stop. |
All the time. I remember they showed us The Patriot in History because of its relevance to the subject at hand. Many times have we been told to watch a movie as a means to learn about something. I think the government is behind these stupid movies that come out about 911 to counteract the truthful movies that come out about 911. The WTC will be 90% surrounded by lies...to begin with, given the FACT that 9/11 was inside job to capitlize on mideast oil. And dont say "but why would America kill 3000 of its own and ruin a building". American Politicans will kill 300,000 of its own to get hold of Oil, they arent the most moral human beings afterall.
