Anybody know the scoop on this? Thanks.

throw your keys under the seat or in your glove box

i learned the hard way, just having them on u, while drunk and in your car is a no no

If you are drunk and need to sleep in your car.

DO NOT sit in the driver's seat, or the passenger seat to be safe.
DO NOT have your keys on you, in the ignition or basically anywhere except your glove-box or trunk.

And you'll be just fine.

PS: In response to "How do you get your keys if you lock them in the trunk?" WELL... If you lock your keys in your trunk, and you're sleeping in your car... how the fuck do you THINK you get your keys doofus? POP THE TRUNK!

PPS: Ignore that if your car doesn't do that, or it doesn't work.

Yet another bullshit law...

The typical canadian law that tries to mother everyone. Why not arrest the drunk drivers? No no no... we have to arrest those who may or may not drive drunk instead.

STUPID! If you are sleeping in your car and a cop arrest you for that then you might as well have just driven home drunk. As far as im concerned, youd probably sooner get caught stationary then driving home.

DUMMY DISCLAIMER: no i am not advocating driving drunk... im just trying to illustrate how this stupid law could encourage it.

I would change this law completely. If the car is in motion you are a drunk driver. If the car is stationary and off you are not. The end.

I really hate laws that make criminals out of law abiding people.

But we arent even talking about drinking and driving. We are talking about drinking and being smart enough to sleep it off yet still getting arrested for it.
