if swamper doesn't want TA Recordings to happen it would be unfair to sort of parasite on the name of TA without his agreement!

so no TA Recordings are not going to happen ever!

or atleast untill Swampy changes his mind about it!

The guys at Trancetribe (Aussie crew) have a label up and going, and are getting new tracks up weekly (or close to). Might like to check them out.

Trancetribe is a toy label. Very unproffesional. I wouldn't work with them if I were you.

We can ask his premision to use the name, I am sure he wouldn't mind at all.

TA Recordings can sign other EDM genres too, not just trance you know.
We can make a A&R for each subgenere and try to run it.
We still need to ask swamper.

random question:

would it be a bad idea to start a trance addict label?
something of a collab of the many unsigned but very talented producers here?

edit: ok i read the whole thread now... im a little after the initial punch.
oh well great minds think alike lol

If A TA label can possibly happen, how bout have it half pay, and half free. What I mean is, allow free downloads of MP3's that are 128 bit, and offer those same tracks in higher quality MP3 and wave format, for a small fee. Most of us just want our tracks promoted and played, correct? Giving out free, lower quality downloads would at least ensure that tracks get heard, even if only a few purchased them. Adds on the website could help cover server costs and so forth. DJs and listeners would know that each TA track has gone through strict quality control measures. So it wouldn't be hit or miss, like when you download tracks from soundclicks or download.com. I'm just thinking a TA label should be more about getting the music out there, and helping TA forum members.

Yes it is what has killed trance music. Indie labels just get in the way and don't promote someone to get good enough to be on a label like Armada Music.

Guys let's seriously start this up. I think this is an ingenius idea. The community is plenty large enough and I know we have the talent here. Collaborations would be fairly easy since we all know each others faults, type of tracks they create and all that other good info. Web design is a breeze since I know many of us can code some html/dhtml/css/javascript and what not. I think we have the potential for something big here. The A&R would have to be strict for sure, but I'm sure that that person would choose quality tracks and I know we have some talented and even professional sound engineers here to do mastering on tracks. I think we should put this plan into action. If anyone else agrees, then just do a +1 and a little comment or something. Sorry rich buddy I feel like I'm stealing your thread, but I think it's for a great cause.

Edit: Swamper...we'll make you the main man mr ceo lol (Do you think that bribe worked?)

I would fully support the idea of a label made by TA producers. I dunno about calling it TA productions, though, as from what I'm reading Swamper's not so keen on the idea.
