just save and go the extra mile, im so glad i made the decision in buying my cdj 1000 mk3's and i was mixing straight away without prior knowledge of the things. pioneer 1000mk3 all the way beautiful cdj and works fantastic. hot cues have been handy making live edits of tracks.

i like both the pioneers and the denons. if it were me, id buy the pioneers.

+1 to everyone reccomending CDJ-200s for beginning...
I almost feel like even for beginning you should get shoddy gear. If you learn to mix well on crap then when you get good equipment, not only will you respect it much more, but your mixing will be spot on.
If you are thinking of buying above the ~$300/deck priceline, hold out and buy CDJ-1000 MK3s. If you break into the hobby with CDJ-800s you'll later regret spending money on 800s when for a little more you could get 1000s.
With careful scouring of eBay you could even get CDJ-200s for $200 each used.
That said, CDJ-200s are NOT shoddy.. definitely good stuff to start with.
