I can't believe how many people don't buy CDs here....
I download new tracks to see what I think, but rarely download albums....
I buy way too much music, but still, I think some people here should buy a bit more.

download vs buying
I mainly download livesets and the odd singles like in this site. Artists i really like i always buy their music on cd. Something different about the covers, reading what they have to say and who they thank etc. Im big on ensuring that the artists that give me so much pleasure that i support them and buy the music, after all if no-one buys the music artists can't release it! Record companies want to get paid, bottom line.

I think MP3’s are a godsend and at the same time a total pain in the rear end. I’ve discovered artists that I wouldn’t have before been exposed to since MP3’s really took off. And as a DJ it also gives me a chance to spin out rare tracks that are excruciating difficult to get a hold of on 12”, nothing is more frustrating that not being able to play a tune that you know will simply blow the roof off but you haven’t got! For me MP3’s are “try before you buy.” All the MP3 singles I have on my computer or CD or are on my vinyl & CD-wanted list. If I see them around I will go out of my way to buy them, it’s only fair to the artists. On top of this I am a vinyl / CD junkie. I want THE CD and THE vinyl, copies just aren’t the same
For what I am about to say next I may get flamed, and to be honest I don’t care if I do get flamed because it’s my honest opinion and I’m not ashamed of it...If there’s one thing I can’t stand though it’s people who buy no music and just download. It’s unfair that people do this IMHO, irrespective of the legality of it, as it bumps up the cost of already extortionately expensive music. I don’t expect peeps to go out and buy an official copy of every MP3 they own but once in a while paying for a couple of singles or a Mix CD can’t be that much to ask is it? I don’t think so...
To the people who DO THIS ALREADY i.e. once in a while paying for a couple of singles or a Mix CD. Well done, you’re putting something back into the music that you love so much. In my view this is like saying thank you to all the great artists who we know and love. To the people who DON’T, I honestly think it’s disgusting. You claim to love this music yet you don’t put anything back? That doesn’t add up in my mind.
Sorry if I’ve offended anyone but that’s the way I feel...Oh and sorry for the long post!
PS: Huge respect to Mauro Picotto for putting his latest album out for only £8.99

You may get the odd flamer but i totally agree with everything you said. Bottom line if no-one buys the music it doesn't get made.Lets just hope the words computers don't all crash otherwise lots of people won't have any music. Hi from aus.

i dont really see the point of doing either. Cds are usually behind the current trend in music. Live sets and promo singles are the way to go
