Julia, I wish you the best. I just want to say a couple of things that I think everyone should realize.

We are all entirely responsible for our own behavior. (unless we have an uncontrolled mental condition which triggers psycosis.) Meaning, if you are getting cranky with people, it may be easy to blame the alcohol or lack of sleep, but in reality it's about how you view other people. Just because we are tired doesn't mean we snap at everyone. In fact, there are probably those that we would not snap at regardless of how tired we are. That should show you that it's more our attitude towards people in general that is usually the culprit with how we treat people. I've seen many people blame their childhood for how aggresive they are with people, or they blame some other person in their life. I usually bring up the fact that using a scapegoat to snap at people doesnt justify the behavior. We need to sit back and think about how we view others and how we want to treat people regardless of how we ourselves are feeling. We should treat our friends well, because if we treat our friends poorly we really dont deserve to have them as friends.

I don't know if it's because of the alcohol or the lack of sleep, or maybe both, but after I drink, I get really moody and depressed for like 2 days. I don't even need to drink to have a good time. I honestly think I'm allergic to alcohol.

Does this happen to anyone else, or is it just me?

I gave up everything for two years and this past summer I started drinking and smoking again. I'm gonna stop again really soon. What I've learned is that we feel the need to drink at parties so that we don't worry about what we're going to do next and just have as much fun as we can. When we're sober, we tend to not party as wildly as the person next to you because we believe the behavior is inappropriate.

I've seen you happy and I've also seen you moody. I prefer to see you happy so I truely hope you don't drink. In the end it's all up to you. What I suggest is to go to one party and not drink. Then analyze the difference between being drunk and sober.

I personally believe that when you're sober you can still have a good time (maybe not as great as being drunk) but you'll feel alot better the next day and you'll remember alot more too.

Alcohol is more harmful to your body and brain than most any recreational drug...so next time try drugs

Alright, here is a little insight on this issue.

It is EXTREMELY unlikely that you are allergic to ethanol as there are only a few dozen published case reports. Have you suffered from severe rashes, difficulty breathing, stomach cramps or anaphylaxis after ingesting ethanol? Those are the symptoms to be looking for in an allergic reaction to ethanol. The actual allergic reaction is not triggered by the ethanol but rather by the metabolic byproducts such as acetic acid and acetaldehyde.

From the chemist's standpoint I would recommend that you drink at least a liter of Gatorade to re-hydrate your body and then take 3mg of Melatonin before you lay down to sleep so your mind can rest as a drunk sleep is not a quality sleep, and finally to take a COMPLETE multi-vitamin in the morning to replace everything that you sweated out all night. If you have ingested a large amount of ethanol I would recommend that you eat some thick oatmeal to soak up the excess ethanol and clean out your digestive tract so that you can have a nice stable stomach the following day.

Cheers!

There's no such thing as " depressant alcohol" . " E" maybe, but not alcohol

Dude, how about educating yourself before you chime in. Alcohol IS a depressant. Look at it under any drug schedule.

I never said there is such a thing as depressant alcohol...i said alcohol i a depressant.

Learn your facts.
