Make sure you get an LCD that supports 1080P This is the new resolution that will be a standard for a while.

lol we are in dire need of an upgrade too. Hopefully, we don't have any major probs with the new one. Ryan's buzzes until the tube warms up and mine is from HK, so if you don't use a cable box the channels are in duplicate or even triplicate so you can't find anything.

you bought a samsung LCD? i dont think its really 3000:1. the DYNAMIC contrast ratio is 3000:1...the real one is probably 800 or 1000.

i could be wrong. its an lcd marketing ploy....

Yup, it's dynamic contrast ratio. I thought that's how most LCDs were advertised.

We just got a new 1080p LCD and its amazing. With the number of toys in my house, I've become a loser and just don't go out anymore.

Lcd has been around for a very long time, it's a tried and true technology, plasma is relatively new and still needs plenty of fine tuning.
