totally depends on style.

try mixing tom-x cocaine for more than 1:30 without it sounding bad!

Yeah, I agree totally on this, if I'm playing a prog house/trance set then I'll have 1:00+ mix, if I'm playing uplifting/epic or euro trance then it's all done and dusted in around 20 secs (about 8 bars).

I have never counted it, It's different every time
But what is so different about mixing for more than 1:30, if you checking your headphone now and then, it's no problem...

if i'm seriously mixing, anywhere from 1-3 minutes depending on the track. i spin prog/hard trance by the way. if i throw in some epic/uplifting stuff, usually only about 1 minute to 1:30 cuz the next track's melody will kick in and sound terribly bad with the first track's melody.

one thing i noticed however, someone posted that when you mix hard trance, you mix fast. on the contrary! i LOVE putting two different hard tracks and mixing them for almost the whole duration, almost my own remix if you will. hard trance doesn't have as much the complex melodies of prog/uplifting trance so it won't clash. try it sometime.

3-4 mins in and 3-4 mins out? so ALL of your tracks are well over 8 mins or you only hear the track by itself for 30 seconds?
I preffer to mix progressive longer. If I do a 3 min mix in, then the out mix is say 1-1.5 mins. I don't have much harder trance. Not because I don't like it but everyone I know plays it.
Disco house is shorter, deep house is longer. Breaks can vary. It's all up to the track and style being played. For me anyway.

most of my tracks are 9+min long ...and transition points in progressive are more gradual then trance ...so u can mix for 1-2 minutes with out knowing its being mixed..... but long clean mixing make the transitions powerful ....makes and breaks a good dj from the rest of the crowd..... but yeah its all about the style of track ..trance the transtion is much shorter where as progressive its almost tripled the length
