There's an option in iTunes that updates the tracks on your iPod as soon as you start iTunes with iPod plugged in. You can turn that option off.

hey, comment about the "2 second gaps" on people's iPods. 1st, my ipod only had like 1/4-1/2 a second gaps (3rd generation 40 GB), and dont say, "you just dont have that much music on it", because it was completely full (as in I had to delete music to put more on) of just music.
How often do you guys defragment your iPod's harddrive?
Also, rockbox has been able to do this for a while and also, I hate iTunes, because I run on an older system I find it to be a massive RAM whore. |
Well, yeah, it wasn't really a full 2 second gap, but still, it's better when the gap is even shorter.
Btw, I restore my iPod's HDD whenever I'm updating my music on it.

yes, its not the mp3 files itself, but how itunes and the ipod plays them. go checkout the demo and download the new itunes 7 for yourself.. i just did a quck split of armins ASOT 265 and wow, ive never been so amazed with my itunes.. im going to buy the 80gb ipod tommorow and dump my entire essentialmix archive and ASOT archive (and yess i have them all since ASOT 001)_ and im going to go on a cue searching spree. there goes my weekend. |
No, it is the mp3. Mp3 compression requires several ms of blank space at the begining and end of any song. Just simply how the frames require setup.
