Theres about as much chance for peace in Israel as there is for people in this thread to find common ground to discuss the topic like rational human beings that love and respect one another.

Same can be said for just about anything discussed in this section of TA

It is impossible to say something here without other people automatically making assumptions about your beliefs, political affiliations etc.

At times I find the behavior here near sickening as a lot of what is said is nothing more than agenda pushing.

pkcRAISTLIN.

Your view of the Israel-Palestina conflict is very singleminded and immensely influced of the media.

"yeah, i must say i saw loads of footage of lebanese women & children firing rockets into israel."

Did you actually expect to see women and children firing rockets. That's the most childish I have ever heard. The rockets Hizbollah has been firing is underground.

You need to get the broad picture if you really wanna understand what's behind this conflict.
You also respond to homer's post:

"also, those rockets started after your country started to bombard lebanon. what exactly were you expecting?"

First of all it was not Israel that shot first in this case either.
One year ago Israel removed every settlement from Giza. Hizbollah have fired 1000 rockets since and digged a 200 meter tunnel to abduct 3 israeli soldiers.

"israel committed war crimes against civilians totally removed from hezbollah or their influence. they were even shooting at civilians in the christian cities of lebanon, with no hezbollah influences at all. so stop portraying israel as the innocent victim. you devastated a country over a few soldiers."

In war collateral damaged is enevidable. The difference between Israel and Hizbollah is that Isreal focuses on killing the enemy's military. Hizbollah focuses on killing the civil people of Israel.

U have to understand that in 1948 when Israel was being built up. There were attacked. Since then they have been attacked several times and have waged a war against the Arab to protect themselves.

I think peace will come. Perhaps first in 50 years ore more. Because Israel is a democrazy.
One thing is true:
If the Arabs had no guns there would've been peace.
If Israel had no guns, no Israel had existed.

Sry for the bad English ;D

listen mr "ive been reading PDD for 5 seconds", my view of the conflicts over there are hardly singleminded, which you would know if youd been here more than a few days

immensely influenced by the media you say? well, you may be right. id like to know how you know anything about whats happening in the middle east if NOT through the media? there a really fucking tall tower in denmark from which you can see the conflict unfold is there?

why are the media reports not to be trusted? what exactly do you know of australian journalism anyway? we are lucky to get some of the best investigative current affairs shows in the world.

thats not childish. sexy warden is kinda childish btw. i was merely drawing the attention to the fact that whilst hezbollah were firing rockets israel was killing lebanese women and children. and their rockets arent being fired from underground, they dont have nuclear missile silos

in the context of this particular conflict, israel were dropping bombs on lebanon before the 3000 rockets began to descend on israel. homerj used the 3000 figure, which covered the 30 odd days of war. that was his number, not mine. and those 3000 began AFTER israel started bombing.

excuse me, did i say "collateral damage"? i dont remember saying that. im talking about the deliberate targeting of lebanese civilians. if you really think this didnt occur then i suggest that it is you that need to understand a little more. the IDF targeted civilians, end of story.

Do you think in another thousand years another movie, titled "Kingdom of Heaven," will come out?

Correct, we are extremely fortunate in Australia to have some of the best investigative journalism in the world, our diversely multicultural society means we get an accurate story which represents all sides of any conflict. Many of my Jewish friends having seen these non-partisan documentaries centred around the Israel-Lebanon conflict and aired recently in Australia are as appauled by the War Crimes committed by Israel as they are by those committed by Hezbollah commonly stating "both sides are as fucked up as each other"

The IDFs' claim that they did not target civilians is spurious at best, the evidence mounting against them from many well documented cases by neutral third party observers and human rights organisations prove beyond reasonable doubt that Israel has indeed committed War Crimes and as the dust settles this evidence is becoming impossible for them to refute - did Israel truly believe that they would get away with carpet bombing civilian areas that had nothing to do with the conflict?

I hope those War Criminals who head the IDF and Hezbollah are all held accountable for their disgusting crimes against humanity.

Israels horrific conduct against civilians in the war against Lebanon and Hezbollah's ability to inflict heavy casualties on Israels 'invincible' army was a major catalyst for changes in Syria. The former secular government which under Hafez al-Assad leveled a city leaving several thousand people dead in response to an attempted uprising by the Muslim Brotherhood has now began to court Muslim extremism under Bashar al-Assad in the hope that it will one day help him secure the Golan Heights; posters of Hassan Nasrallah litter the streets and he is now universally admired accross the Middle East as a Hero. The word on the Syrian street is that the Israel-Lebanon conflict was "just the begining" and that its going to get alot worse before it gets any better. The Israel-Lebanon war has irrevocably changed the entire Middle East forever.

Just for the record, PKC is as centrist as one can get on this issue.

Australian dude's: I'm not trying to bash ur media. I'm simply trying to say that "p...." doesn't know his history. All u need to understand is that there is big differences between Israel and Palistina.
1.
When the civil people of Israel is being bombed by terroist everyone is happy in Palistina.
When the civil people of Palistina is being harmed the Israeli people mourns their deaths.
