It's not that "letters can be a total mess and you can still figure out what the word would be," that's not true at all. It's a dumb internet ploy on something that could be interesting to think about but instead that everyone ooh's and aah's over without thinking about it. Sorry, grammar/linguistics/language get me riled up.
It's very hard to do with singled-out words, and words that are more difficult/rare than the ones in the original paragraph.

it's completely obvious that context is needed regardless. it is needed in a word, between the letters - especially the first and that last, as i hope i demonstrated above - aswell as in a sentence, between the words.
