Obviously, there are exceptions (probably many), but IMO lyrics detract from the music, unless the singer's voice is used as more of an 'instrument' rather than having the song being more focused on the words.

im assuming everyone here has heard Cassie-Make a Move... this proves that all you need is a kick ass beat lyrics may add to the song but as long as its got a good beat all is well

They're all shit. Really. If you want genuinely brilliant lyrics in dance music- listen to Faithless. Nobody else comes remotely close.
