It would be different if she asked you first, and you said you didn't want to go, and it would also be different if you knew this friend of hers, and trusted him...but it seems to me like she totally brushed you off to go with this "friend" of hers.. and to be quite honest.. I think she's playing you for a fool... or she feels that she's not getting enough attention from you, and she's trying to make you jealous by taking this "friend".. Im a chick, so I know how it works. Just straight up tell her that you don't want to play mind games! If she loved you, or even simply had strong feelings for you... she would be taking you instead.. After all, your her boyfriend right?

P.S. I thought anyone can go to these school dances!!!..why can't she go with you AND her friend?>.. Think about it?.. because she doesn't want you to be there, to see what she does when ur not around. It's not like it's a prom, where you go with a date.. it's a school dance... if she's going with this friend alone... it sounds like more of a date to me. Im hoping not for your case...

i don't understand. why don't u go to the dance with her?

we were together for about 5 months now

we are very close, but we get into fights quite often..we had two huge fights where we almost broke up.

HOwever, the thing is she didn't ask the guy, the guy asked her..and she said yea..

Ok here's the thing if she cheats it was never meant to be "You&her"
So I would have to trust her and just hope for the best.

I can see you are still online, so 1 question left:

are you going to the same school as she does AND are you supposed to go to that party too?

because, if you don't: leave it alone, let her go, trust on it nothing is gonna happen between them. I assume she loves you since you are pretty close and stuff... so trust her, let her enjoy and don't give her the feeling she is all tied up to you.... live and let live...

however...
if you DO go to the same school (and assuming you WANNA go to the party, and have fun and stuff), I would talk about it with the girl, saying you are not particularry fond of how things are going lately... and that you would actually like it when you go there as a couple... if she says, okay, I'll call of this other guy and we go together, everything is fine and you will, at least for the time being, be happy and stay together and love eachother.
Nevertheless, if she says: no, I am going to the party with this other guy (and still saying nothing will happen), she apparantly does not care enough about you, cause in true love people try avoiding hurting each other feeling. in that case she is, IN MY OPINION, not worth to stay with....(still: MY opinion ofcourse)

note: if you do go to the same school BUT you don't give a fuck about those parties, then stay home and let her enjoy, but don't give her an all tied up feeling. girls normally don't like that... and personally I would not like that either when I was in a relationship...
